We, shall now see, some multiple adjectives used by him:
Example: But call back, my lord, call back this pervading silent heat ,
still and keen and cruel, burning the heart with dire despair.
Note: pervading heat (adj# 1), silent heat (adj# 2).
Example: Whom dost thou worship in this lonely dark corner of a temple with doors all shut? Open thine eyes and see thy God is not before thee!
Note: lonely corner (adj# 1), dark corner (adj# 2).
Example: The sweet, soft freshness that blooms on baby's limbs--does
anybody know where it was hidden so long?
Note: sweet freshness (adj# 1), soft freshness (adj# 2).
IMPORTANT
We must distinguish between "an adverb modifying an adjective" and "two multiple adjectives". We have to apply the question: "Which does this word modify?" . An adjective always modifies a noun, whereas an adverb can modify a verb/adjective/another-adverb. See this-
example: My poet, is it thy delight to see thy creation through my eyes
and to stand at the portals of my ears silently to listen to
thine own eternal harmony?
Note: Harmony is the noun. Adj#1 'eternal' modifies it: eternal harmony. Adj#2 'own' modifies it: own harmony. The word 'thine' is adverb, because it modifies the adjective 'own'. Whose own? Ans: 'thine own' gives the clue.
