Adjectives describe nouns i.e. things, persons and some abstract
qualities. Adverbs describe the actions of the verbs, qualities
of adjectives and other adverbs.
I am greatly astonished at the skill of Doyle in using adverbs,
particularly the manner-adverbs.
Here is a quiz based on the adverbs ending in '-fully' used by
the author.
Grammar/vocabulary observation
All the adverbs are derivatives of the adjectives ending in '-
ful'.
The adjectives themselves are derivatives of nouns, by adding
the suffix '-full'.
